Thanks so much for choosing Alexa Janell Photography to capture this special time in your life. My mission is to have fun, create an experience you'll always remember and capture beautiful, authentic photographs that will become treasures for you to cherish, for many years to come!
This guide provides a few tips and some clarity to help prepare for your senior session :)
What to Expect
Aside from finding the best lighting and locations, I'll be loosely guiding you, while capturing your natural essence.
This session is for you! So if there's something that you are passionate about and want to include that in your pictures, please feel free to bring any props or outfits that show your passion. If you're a musician and want to bring your guitar, or a painter and want to capture this, please feel free to bring anything you feel led to bring!
What to Wear
Choosing outfits for a session can be fun for some and overwhelming for others. What I want you to keep in mind while choosing your outfits, is that this photography session is for YOU!
While I will provide some guidance and tips along the way, I want you to feel good in whatever you choose to wear. That is the most important thing to me!
When choosing your clothes, make sure it's something you feel great in when looking in the mirror. We'll be walking and sometimes sitting to get the best images, so keep that in mind when making your clothing decisions.
Complementary colors as opposed to matching exact colors can be appealing to the eye.
It's best to avoid logos and busy patterns that may clash with each other.
Dress in layers or bring multiple options, for a quick swap to create a variety of images.
Be sure to think about the environment your photoshoot will taken in and keep that in mind when choosing your clothes.
If you wear glasses, please keep in mind there can be a glare. If your glasses transform into sunglasses when light hits them, they will most likely be too dark to see your beautiful eyes. And if that's your style, then great!! Again, this is for You!
